1. Lens Covers or Tear-Off Sheets
Many full-face respirators and supplied-air hoods allow disposable lens covers (similar to motocross tear-offs).
Applicators peel off a layer when it gets dirty, keeping vision clear without removing the mask.

2. Anti-Fog and Overspray-Resistant Coatings
Some masks come with factory-applied coatings that resist foam sticking.
Others use aftermarket sprays or wipes to make the lens slick so foam doesn’t adhere easily.

3. Mask-Specific Protective Films
Thin adhesive films can be applied to the lens before spraying.
When overspray builds up, the film is peeled off, leaving a clean surface underneath.
4. Physical Barriers
Applicators sometimes use a visor extension or shield attached to the mask to deflect foam.
Some even improvise with clear plastic sheets taped over the lens. Plastic Bags referred to as Turkey Bags are used with Supplied Air Respirators. These bags are 18"x24" and are worn over the sprayers head with the mask on. When foam accumulates on the "Vision" side of the bag, it is turned to the clear side. Most users of the Turkey Bag say that when foam has accumulated, they crumple the bag and the foam falls from it. 1 Turkey Bag can be used for hours versus a Peel/Tear off.

5. A unique product
Jim Lawlor out of California has invented and produced a product called the Advanz Lens Cover. This is a great product where the Lens Cover fits over any size or type of Full Face respirator It has a roll of thin plastic mylar sheeting on the right side, approximately 5 inches tall and a length that allows 30 Frame advances. There is a twist knob on the opposite (Left side) of the plastic roll. When foam accumulates, the knob is turned and the foam covered section twists around the knob and advances the frame for a clear view from the plastic roll.
One contractor told me like them because it keeps his guys spraying instead of leaving the work area to fetch a new peel off or Turkey Bag. Which can turn into a smoke break or smart phone break. Eliminates time lost.

6. Frequent Cleaning During Breaks
If overspray occurs, workers clean lenses with approved solvents or wipes during pauses.
Important: Only use cleaners recommended by the mask manufacturer to avoid damaging the lens.
7. Proper Spray Technique
Maintaining correct gun distance and angle reduces overspray on the mask.
Experienced applicators adjust spray patterns and airflow to minimize blowback.
